Those who are committed to future classes make the total 142. Yep, our community is getting larger and that's a good thing. At the monthly lunches you should have a very good chance of meeting a new (or seasoned) grad who you have not meet previously. They may have the very same or similar target market. It could be a starting point for referral conversation. -------------------------------------------------------------- *Interested People* -------------------------------------------------------------- Another feature we'd like to report to you is the list of people who have said that they are very interested in taking a specific class. If you see a name you know, your support of that individual could help make them feel that much more comfortable about taking the CNP training.* Aug 3rd Class (evening) Becky Pegorsch Merry Beavers Ann Palmer Susan Milliron Sandi Nolte Beth Johnson Zac Robison Eric Douglas Ruth Milliron Aaron Swiggum September 10th Class (daytime) Norma Sliwinski Kelly Elton Barb Waite-Shenk Jean Fellhauer Connie Wright Dustin Alexander Oct 7th class (evening) Rick Ruckman Matt Skotynsky --------------------------------------------------------------- *Grads Find Connections at Lunch* --------------------------------------------------------------- Next lunch is this Tuesday, July 20th, but you can pull out your calendar for *Tuesday, August 17th*, 11:30 - 1 PM. Perhaps we can strive for a record crowd with most of us getting back from vacations. The Spaghetti Warehouse welcomes us, and does a great job of serving us. Let's make it worth their while. Cost is $10 and we welcome cash or checks. (Make checks out to CNP of Ohio Ltd.) ------------------------------------------------------------- **CNP Board of Action* * ------------------------------------------------------------- Your Board of Action met July 14th to help us to be even more successful with their input. Slight adjustments to the mixer format continue. You'll see the tables changed again so that we welcome people at a registration table, and then help them to the other side of the room where they will find another table to fill out a name tag. We hope this version will eliminate the crowd at the doorway, and also allow for our new "Guest Hosts" to make a connection. We want to be known as the friendliest mixer in town and we're certainly making the effort. We have several volunteers from the advisory board to be Guest Hosts, and would welcome volunteers from the grad ranks also. All you have to do is make a guest feel more comfortable during the evening. Next Mixer is September 1st, 5:30 - 7:30 at the NECA Hall at 727 Lime City Rd. ----------------------------------------------------------- Module 5 GA Corp is Active ------------------------------------------------------------ Module 5 can be daunting. It's an opportunity to practice Module 5 and to connect with a very smart member of our community. ----------------------------------------------------------- *Presentations* ---------------------------------------------------------- One great way to hone your speaking and presentation skills is to join a local Toastmasters group. Toastmasters International was formed to help business professionals gain and improve their speaking skills, both impromptu and prepared. The are several clubs in the area, some meeting weekly and others bi-weekly. All clubs love visitors. Go to www.toastmasters.org to find a chapter near you. His expertise is marketing. /Free Prize Inside /is his 10th book, of which four are published only in eBook format. His approach to publishing breaks the mold, with this, his most recent offering, being packaged inside a cereal box. Does it stand out on the shelf of business books? You bet, because Godin isn't afraid to have a little fun. I would recommend the whole book, and it will take me at least another read or two to really get the essence. Then it will become a reference book on my bookshelf. Godin suggests that organizations that go to the "edge" of the established market, are the ones that succeed. There are plenty of short case studies (just a paragraph or two) illustrating this concept. About /price a/nd /quality, /Godin says this, "Lowering your prices without doing anything else is a game for desperate people lacking in imagination." About quality he says, "You can't achieve rapid growth by being just a bit better than the competition...... Quality is fine for market leaders or those with deep pockets and plenty of time. For the rest of us, real growth come from somewhere else." Godin, writes what we try to teach in the first module of CNP. If you want to begin to think about your product or service from an entirely different frame of reference, purchase this little book and begin reading. ----------------------------------------------------------- **Decisions for 2005 * *----------------------------------------------------------- Remember, beginning in January 2005, the CNP class series will be $699. Your friends, and co-workers still have three classes in 2004 to register into at the old price. Additionally, we will allow those who want to take the course in the 1st Quarter of 2005 to pre-pay their course (must be paid by December 31st) at the old pricing. --------------------------------------------------------- *Golf Outing* --------------------------------------------------------- Most of the sign-ups are in for the BNI, and WEN golf/networking event being held July 30th.
